Abstract

|
Retrospective review of abdominal ultrasonogram in 180 patients with liver cirrhosis was made using Weill¢¥s classification.
The results were as followings:
1. 180 cases consists 23 cases with Type I, 56 cases with Type II, 51 cases with Type IIIa, 39 cases with Type IIIb, and 11 cases with Type IV.
2. Although retraction of liver was more frequent in Type 111, IV than in Type I, II, normal size of liver and hepatomegly were seen in Type I, II, III. Therefore, liver size is not in direct proportion to ultrasonographic type.
3. Associated findings such as splenomegly, ascents, esphageal varix were seen in all types. Therefore, these ultrasonographic type were considered to be related to morphological type rather than phases.
4. Specific ultrasonographic findings of liver cirrhosis was not identified, but these four characteristics which are change of liver size, coarsening & increased attenuation of internal echogenecity of liver, transmission of sound, and change of vascular structure in the liver may be help to increase diagnosing incidence of liver cirrhosis.
5. Area of diverse echogenecity of liver was revealed as malignant transformation in cirrhotic liver. They revealed cold area by RI scan, and so differencizted from regenerating nodule.
